How it all started…

“For those who don’t know, while I might be one of the founders of Hodari Africa, it isn’t actually the initial company that my partners and I started, and the story of how it came to be is actually quite interesting.

It all started when I was working for a large construction and project management firm with some of my partners around 2021. I had become fed up with all of the box-ticking I needed to do to meet compliance standards because of COVID, and I strongly believed that my future partners and I could do things better, and thus Four Collaboration arrived on the scene. Things went quite well with Four Collaboration, and after a while, we were approached by Hodari Real Estate Solutions, as they needed a consultancy firm to help with a data centre project, which is one of my areas of expertise.

After we worked with Hodari Real Estate Solutions for a bit, the former director of the company was offered a very prestigious position elsewhere, and he offered me and my partners the business and its pipeline, which included income, expenses, staff, and everything in between.

For some time afterwards, my partners Jacques Jacobs and Jerome Alexander ran Four Collaboration which serviced South Africa, and I ran Hodari, which serviced the rest of Africa. But, we eventually got tired of the idea of having to run and market two businesses, so to make things that much simpler, we rebranded as Hodari Africa, as it was a more established brand than Four Collaboration.

And the rest as they say, is history.”- Mikayla Benkenstein, Director
